Over the summer, Aldez added a 6th location in Huntsville, Alabama. With a new facility preparing to be opened, Aldez began hiring employees to help with serving Huntsville area customers. This brought many new faces to Aldez, including Rob. Rob, a longtime local to the Huntsville area, had been keeping his eye out for new opportunities when he came across Aldez. Rob knew that a new business in the community often brings new exciting job opportunities and he was intrigued.
Making an employment change is an important decision, and Rob wanted to understand more about what Aldez stood for before applying. When he conducted his research, he was impressed to see the company’s growth, as well as the values Aldez stands for.
Rob decided to apply for the Team Member position that was newly available at Aldez. Due to his experience, Rob was contacted shortly thereafter to arrange an interview. At his first meeting with Aldez, he spent time speaking with Staci in Human Resources as well as others. He found the Aldez team was warm and welcoming and he immediately felt a part of the family. For Rob, the fact the Aldez’s Huntsville location was a startup meant he could grow with the company. He liked the idea that he could help determine how things are set up and know everything from the start. Ultimately, the decision to join Aldez was a no-brainer for Rob.
After over 10 years’ experience in warehouse, Rob knew his way around these kinds of operations. He recognized that the role was a great fit for his skills and was the type of work he enjoys. But what Rob didn’t anticipate was just how perfect a match it was. Not only was Aldez a great fit for Rob, but Rob was a perfect match for Aldez. As a local Huntsville resident, Rob has helped Aldez integrate into the community. He offers local insight into the community, an important input for the management team at Aldez.
Rob says he knew he made the right choice immediately upon starting his new role. “Everybody is nice here and treats each other with complete respect and care,” shared Rob. “For example, just the other day, I had a truck to unload. I quickly realized this was not a one-man job, so I asked for a spotter because otherwise, I could not gauge the height accurately to pull it in. Someone on the team stepped up to help immediately, with no hesitation and made sure I did not strike the ceiling with the truck. We all have each other’s backs and that is what I love about Aldez.”
Rob is a firm believer in teamwork and family. He likes that the management is helpful to all employees and willing to lend a hand and offer the proper resources needed. He has been impressed that they work side by side with the staff and gives a sense of working with versus working above. “At Aldez, everything is a ‘we’ and ‘team’ thing,” Rob explains, “it is never an “I” thing. Working here totally exceeds my expectations. They just always deliver on their promises.”
Outside of work, Rob loves to spend time with his family. He has one child and two grandchildren. And while Aldez has become a second family to him, Rob is happy that his role at Aldez allows him to be able to spend more time with his family consistently. “Life goes fast and I don’t want to miss it,” shared Rob. “I have my Aldez family to thank for giving me a predictable schedule so I don’t miss time and big moments with my family.”
Rob is excited to learn and grow at Aldez. “I’m looking forward to my future at Aldez. I made the right decision, choosing to make a change and come to the Aldez team. And, if there’s anything I can tell folks that are thinking about coming to Aldez, it’s that they’ll be happy they did.” Rob concluded.
