16 Sep Employee Profile: Chase Carlock
Chase Carlock is the Operations Manager over the paint department at the Aldez location onsite for an automotive manufacturer in Princeton, Indiana. He’s been with Aldez for just a few months and brings an interesting perspective on what it’s like to decide to join the Aldez team. Whether you’re a customer of Aldez or a person considering joining the team, his story is one that should interest you.
Chase made the move to the Princeton area about 8 years ago with his wife to help out his father-in-law, a Pastor, with the church. Chase’s background as a youth pastor was to be of great help and, while Chase did not have a job lined up, he and his wife made the move to the area based on faith.
Chase got a job at a contractor in automotive manufacturing working at a local plant and fell in love with the automotive business. “I love the process of seeing the cars come together, from assembly of all the different parts into vehicles and seeing them drive off in different colors,” shares Chase.
He grew from a team member to a team leader and, eventually a group leader, and Chase knew he was ready for the next step of his career. But, after 8 years with the same company, deciding to make a change wasn’t easy.
When Chase was introduced to the management at Aldez, he knew it was an opportunity he wanted to pursue. On his first visit with the team, he learned about the history of the company and Aldez core values. He had heard through the grapevine about the unique nature of working at Aldez but seeing it with his own eyes was a different story. “After 8 years with the same company, I should have been nervous about making a change, but, honestly, I had no nervousness,” said Chase. “Every person I met throughout the process wanted to know about my family and background, not just my work life and this was a real sign to me about how much this company truly cares about its employees.”
At Aldez, Chase manages a team of 12 people and he’s thrilled that he is given the latitude to run his department like a business. “The management team trusts me and removes the red tape, so I can make decisions that allow my team and our company to move faster.” This helps him grow as a manager and Chase is pleased that he also has access to his management team for advice when he needs it.
Today, Chase is very happy with his decision to join Aldez. Seeing management in action and how the company is run at the corporate level has reinforced to him that there is proof in the pudding that Aldez stands behind its values. “All the people I’ve met at Aldez are friendly and respectful. There is no drama, no arguments, and everyone just gets along,” he says.
