Reflecting on 2020

By Diane Copek

As we near the end of 2020, I reflect upon the challenges and opportunities brought forth this year.  What’s happened in the world, and right here at home in our communities, is unprecedented in our lifetime.  And amid the turbulence, it is wonderful to see communities coming together and supporting each other.  We are so proud of our Aldez team and their commitment to give back and shine a light on those in need within their respective communities.

This Christmas season, all of us at Aldez, are reflecting on the last 12 months with a special nod to being thankful. There is so much to be thankful for.

We are thankful for the continued trust of our clients and our continued growth.  It is the faith our clients place in us that has helped us be able to grow into a company that can give back to the communities in which we reside. This is no more apparent to us than in 2020, when many people are struggling.

Aldez was able to pivot quickly and continue to provide services to our clients, in all-new safer ways.  In 2020, we opened our new location in Huntsville, Alabama.  Despite the automotive shutdowns, we were able to retain all of our employees.  And, we are thankful that the members of our staff remain healthy.

Christmas is a time of giving.  While different this year, our Aldez locations have continued their annual traditions of supporting their communities beginning at Thanksgiving and throughout the Christmas season.  Our Indiana team supported the Isaiah 1:17 Project with formula, sippy cups, pajamas and other supplies for vulnerable children.  Our Michigan team annually contributes 100 turkeys to support those in need to Almont Vineyard church.  Our Texas location continued to support the “O give Thanks” charity for the seventh year running, donating and delivering complete Thanksgiving meals to area families in need.  Our Kentucky team delivered 100 turkeys to the Amen House to support the homeless. Our new Alabama location supported the Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen and Living Free Halfway House with large food donations.  We are so honored to have such a wonderful team that pulls together each year offering their time, kindness and a warm smile to touch someone’s life in their time of need.

While people may not gather in the same ways this Christmas, we are blessed with technology that allows us to feel close to our loved ones.  We hope that when you cannot be with loved ones, you are still able to connect and enjoy one another’s company.  From all of us at Aldez, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
