Copek Joins NVBDC Board

February 2019

by Jeff Copek

Today, it was announced that I will be joining the board of the National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC.)  If you’re unfamiliar with the NVBDC, they are the only Veteran Owned Business Certification organization developed by Veterans, for Veterans. The purpose of the NVBDC to provide a credible and reliable certifying authority for all size businesses ensuring that valid documentation exists of Veteran ownership and control.

This process for accreditation ensures that Veterans, and the businesses they own and control get opportunities to flourish.  For example, the twenty eight corporations that make up the Billion Dollar Roundtable (BDR) have voted to include Service Disabled and Veteran Owned Businesses (SD/VOBs) certified by the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) in their qualified diversity spend.

It’s developments like this one with the BDR that make me proud to serve on a board like this.  As a business owner and Veteran myself, I believe that we should support and thank our troops for their service by welcoming them to apply and providing jobs to qualified candidates. This is a value held in high regard at Aldez.
